Nepal captured center stage in Naturiva 2007, Spain

Nepal successfully participated in NATURIVA 2007 (2-4 Nov), a famous Travel and Outdoor Sports Expo, in Madrid Spain. 12000 plus visitors visited the exhibition. Nepal Pavilion, decorated in a typical Nepali style with Swayambhu image, pati-pauwa, and naturally nepal banners, was a major attraction of the show. Cultural dances, performed by the Nepal Artists, were able to pull well attention towards the Nepal Pavilion. Pashmina, handicrafts, and wooden arts were exhibited and sold out. Alpine Travel, Budhha Trek, and Dwarkias Hotel were also in the exhibition for their tourism businness.
The presence of the Tourism Minsiter Mr. P.S. Gurung and NTB's Director Mr. Subash Nirola, made Nepal's partciation more imporatant amongst Spanish Tour Operators and Media. Nepal also got a good coverage in print and electronic media of this region. Nepal Tourism Borad's PR & Publicty Officer Mr. Deepak R Joshi disseminated the tourism information to the visitors. The visitors acquired many informations about trekking, mountainnering and cultural attarctions of Nepal. The Spanish visitors are found well aware about the restored peace in Nepal and were less concerned about the serurity situtaion.
Nepal got a very right forum to promte its adventure and rural attarctions in European market, as the exhibition itself was adventure and rural torusim specific. Nepal was the partner country of this NATURIVA 2007. The fair was inaugurated by tourism minster of Nepal Mr. Gurung on 2 November 2007. Minister Gurrung was also the chief guest of various other events of the Fair. More than 600 exhibitors of trekking and ski-equiipments, rural torusim destinations, hotels-resorts, and tourism offices had exhibited their goods and services. Nepal,s partcipation in the fair was managed by Nepal Pavilion Company and the Fair was organized by Exevia Madrid.
